Mohsen Moazami is a Managing Director at CNTP and a proven leader with extensive experience in technology enabled business transformation.
Mohsen Moazami is the MD at Columbus Nova Technology Partners (CNTP), a novel global tech investment firm combining the best attributes of VC & PE business models. Moazami’s representative investments are vArmour, Frame, Bracket Computing, Aerospike, Bina acq. by Roche, Liveloop acq by MSFT & Opsmatic acq by New Relic. He was an early investor in Think Big Analytics acq by Teradata, Webs, acq by Vistaprint, Powerset, acq by MSFT, ParAllyle, acq by Affymetrix, SGN, acq by Mindjolt, NextBio acq by Ilumina, Opsmatic acq by New Relic.
Moazami currently serves on the Boards of Global Capacity, Kaazing, Aerospike, vArmour, Frame and Zoomdata.
Previously, Moazami was a member of the Cisco exec. staff from 2000-2011. Most recently he was on the Sr. leadership teams of the Emerging Markets & Globalization Centre in Bangalore, India responsible for strategy, operations and financial results across EM; a theater generating in excess of $5 Bil in revenue in FY2011.
Moazami also led Cisco’s Strategic Consulting across EM. Moazami & his team worked with senior government & business leaders to help drive digital broadband based country transformation, improve national competitiveness, & standard of living. Moazami was a member of the Investment Advisory Council of the Turkish Prime Minister and served as a member of the Strategy Council of the Global Alliance for ICT and the Development of the UN Department of Economic & Social Affairs.
Before joining Cisco, Moazami was a managing partner at Kurt Salmon Associates (KSA - a division of Accenture), in charge of the global e-business practice. Prior to KSA, Moazami founded and oversaw the growth of Stanford Business Systems, a software & systems integration firm acquired by KSA. Moazami recently received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for outstanding achievement and noteworthy U.S. citizenship. Moazami has a graduate degree from Stanford University. Moazami has been regularly featured on Bloomberg TV, CNBC, WSJ, FT, & WEF.
Andrew Intrater is a Managing Director at CNTP and has over 25 years of general management and transaction experience obtained from leadership roles in the technology and asset management sectors, as well as over 20 years of service on the boards of directors of public companies. Currently he serves on the boards of CIFC Capital Corp and Cyalume Technologies Inc.
Andy has also been Chief Executive Officer of Columbus Nova, a multi-strategy investment firm, since January 2000. Through the acquisition of Deerfield Capital Corp and subsequent merger of Deerfield with Commercial Industry Finance Corp, he helped grow Columbus Nova’s CLO asset management platform from $2 billion of assets under management in 2007 into one of the largest, leading CLO asset managers with over $15 billion of assets under management. His international transaction experience includes a $51-million equity/debt investment in 2005 for a controlling stake in MOCC (Moscow Cablecom Corp - today known as AKADO), a Moscow-based broadband MSO.
He is a former director and current Member of the Executive Board of Renova Management, a global leader in energy, base metals and mining industries.
In 1985 he founded ATI, the predecessor of Oryx Technology Corp. He served Oryx as President and Chief Operating Officer until 1999 as it grew into a leading manufacturer of semiconductor test equipment. He led its 1994 IPO and oversaw two strategic acquisitions, including the purchase of Zenith’s power converter division.
He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University and performed graduate studies in Materials Science at Columbia University.
Jason Epstein is a Managing Director at CNTP
In addition to CNTP, Jason Epstein is a Managing Partner of Columbus Nova (“CN”), the US investment vehicle for the Renova Group a multi-national, Zurich-based industrial holding. Jason co-leads the investment activities for the US group which currently manages directly and indirectly (through affiliate managers) a variety of assets whose investments include growth equity, private equity, and fixed income investments.
On behalf of CN, Jason’s primary investment areas of focus are CIFC, (Nasdaq:CIFC) a fundamentals-based relative value asset management platform with AUM of approximately $12.3B. Jason is active on the Board of Directors and a member of the company’s Management Committee directing key strategic initiatives; and CN’s technology and media investment platform. In this capacity, Jason sits on a variety of Boards of Directors, including Rhapsody Music International (Chairman), Day Break Games (Chairman), GenePeeks, and 300.
Prior to joining CN in 2001, Jason founded eLink Communications in 1998, a provider of broadband, networking and application services, and served as its Chief Executive Officer, where he was a two-time finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Most importantly, Jason co-founded Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit with his wife and best friend.
Jason received a B.A. from Tufts University and currently serves on the University’s Board of Overseers of the School of Liberal Arts.
Yaron Eitan is a Managing Director at CNTP. He has over 25 years of experience acquiring, building, and exiting businesses, bringing both financial and operational business expertise to the team.
In addition to being the Founder and Managing Partner of Selway Capital, Mr. Eitan serves as a Partner of SCP Partners, a private equity investment firm with multiple funds under management. SCP Partners specializes in the telecommunications, Information Technology media,defense and security, and education industries.
Previously, Mr. Eitan was the Co-Founder of Reshef Technologies, a specialty munitions company, the President of Patlex, an industrial and patent enforcement holding company, and the Founder and CEO of Geotek Communications, a wireless communications company. Geotek pioneered the introduction of advance data and location based services over wireless networks using proprietary high capacity wireless technology previously developed for military applications. Geotek operated wireless networks in the US, Uk, Germany and Korea.
In 1998, Mr. Eitan founded Selway Partners, a technology-sector holding company. Selway Partners was sold to SCP Partners in 2002, at which time Mr. Eitan became one of the partners of SCP Partners. In April 2007, Mr. Eitan launched Vector Intersect Security Acquisition Corporation, a special purpose acquisition company, which acquired Cyalume Technologies Holdings, Inc. in December 2008. Mr. Eitan is a Vice Chairman at Cyalume Technologies and Chairman of the Board at DVTel Inc, Software Technology, Inc., Magnolia Broadband, GenePeeks, and CardSpark. He acted as President and CEO of Selway Capital Acquisition Corporation, a publicly-traded vehicle which acquired Healthcare Corporation of America in April 2013.
Mr. Eitan served in the Israeli Defense Forces for six years as an infantry officer where he reached the rank of Major. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Haifa University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Edmundo Gonzalez is an Operating Partner at CNTP. He has over fifteen years of experience as a manager and investor.
He works on all aspects of the firm’s activities including structuring deals, due diligence and working with management teams to achieve their goals. He has been especially involved with CNTP’s investments in Israeli companies including Credorax, XLMedia, and Fifth Dimension.
Previously, he was a Principal at SCP Partners and a Partner at Selway Capital, where he executed dozens of transactions including principal investments, mergers, acquisitions, sales, and recapitalizations. He also worked in multiple capacities at portfolio companies including roles in marketing, sales and operations. He was a Director of DVTel, a leading video surveillance company, from 2008 to 2015. He currently serves on the boards of GenePeeks, Chalkable and 340B Technologies. Prior to his career in investment management, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting (now IBM Business Consulting) where he consulted to Fortune 500 clients in the media, telecom and publishing industries.
Mr. Gonzalez graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and has received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He is an avid diver and private pilot.
